About

Starting out life on the day after April Fool’s, growing up in rural Tasmania and having been chased by a Tasmanian devil, Dott Reed is as unconventional a pop star as any on today’s scene.

Dott navigates her way through her poetic songs with a sense of childish naivety and fun. Dott Reed’s music is inspired in equal measure by the likes of Billie Holiday and Fleetwood Mac, with some flavours and sounds from Eastern Europe inspired by her Russian great-grandmother and a focus on on-stage theatrics similar to Florence and the Machine and Paloma Faith.

Her romantic style of writing simultaneously exposes a vulnerability and strength. Having played a string of successful gigs, as well as performances at fashion shows and gentlemen’s clubs, Dott Reed has brought her music and dramatic costumes to a diverse audience across the world, from London to Monaco and back again.

Dott Reed’s modern take on Honky-Tonk-inspired music sounds like its coming straight out of a gramo-phone; no surprise for a girl who grew up without a TV and sought solace in the music of Doris Day and Louis Armstrong!  Dott Reed’s music has travelled across the globe, yet comes back to the same enduring themes; nostalgia, love and hope.
